How the Rotowiper® Works

Rotowiper® uses a unique carpeted drum which rotates in the opposite direction of travel. This movement insures that the roller has a constant supply of herbicide, which in turn is brushed on to your targeted weeds.

As the roller rotates, it applies the herbicide to the stem and the underside of the leaf, this being one of the more receptive areas for the weed to absorb the herbicide.

This means you are only applying the herbicide that is required and not wasting it.

As the herbicide runs down the stem it encircles the stem and reaches the base of the weed.

Why Remove Weeds?

Weeds remove moisture and trace elements from the soil that smother pasture and crops. This results in lower productivity and profit.

There is a range of Rotowipers® to suit many applications from small holdings to larger areas of grasslands and crops.

Rotowiper® works because it has a rotating roller which is covered with a carpet that is especially manufactured and tested for Rotowiper®. Herbicide is applied to the carpet within the confines of a set of shields – making spray drift a problem of the past. The combination of an adjustable height and rotating roller means you only apply herbicide to the targeted weeds, not your pasture or crop. Herbicide is applied to the underside of the leaf which is the most receptive part of the weed. This of course gives a better kill and less herbicide is used.

Rotowiper® offers an alternative way to control weeds in pastures or crops without damaging your pasture or crop. Rotowiper® is environmentally friendly as there is no spray drift to contaminate the environment. This of course means a Rotowiper® can be used in windy conditions. The other major benefit is that less herbicide is used as the amount of herbicide disposal is dependant on the weed size and the number of targeted weeds.

The WCF range is suitable for towing behind ATV’s, utility vehicles and tractors. There is a model to suit most applications from hill country to flat land.

The Advantages

  • You have only applied herbicide to the targeted weeds.
  • You have only applied the herbicide that is required to do the job.
  • You have used less chemical than other alternative applicators.
  • You can let your stock back in after any withholding time.
  • You have increased your profits by effectively giving your pasture more moisture and sunlight to grow.

As with any system of herbicide application, the best results are achieved by planning. Plan and decide when  you are going to apply the herbicide and with what chemical.

What herbicide? In the owners manual we have listed a range of herbicides and mixes, these are suggestions only! The water that you use, the area you are in, all have different results with different chemicals, the best solution is to try small sample areas that you can monitor easily and use what is best for you in your area – Your local co-op should be able to give you the best advice as they know your area well. Generally, herbicides that can be sprayed can be wiped.
